What a GUY!
Kathleen (aka Debbie by some of us ) Leadley, WI sent this e-mail yesterday...
As I am reflecting upon the passing of Guy DeRosa, I take comfort because I am a better person for having known him. His dedication to GLBT issues, and passing that knowledge to others through trainings, was a benchmark many of us sought. His commitment and work with the NEA, SOGI and GLBT Caucus, to name just a few, was tireless and inspired me to go home to Wisconsin and be a better leader. At our Cadre trainings we worked hard all day and play hard at night. Guy was in the know on where to go and a fun loving person to be around. And fun we did have. He will always be with me in my fond memories of him. I keep referring to this passage below.
I believe this is what Guy would have told us:
Weep not for me though I am gone: into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will but not for long, upon my soul’s sweet flight.
I am at peace, my souls at rest. There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was blessed for all those many years.
There is no pain; I suffer not, the fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts. In your memory I live on… Anonymous
I hope the pictures come through they are dedicated to the best DIVA I have known!

Guy,
I am forever indebted. My fondest memory is fighting together on Resoulutions Committee for GLBT issues. It was the important one, and it was past time.
Some wanted to do it pecemeal (a little at a time). We convinced the rest of the subcommittee that it was the the right thing to do.
Some said we were taking on too much all at once, but we knew it was what was right. It worked!
A valiant and winning effeort. To all of us who fought that fight, may we remember this Resolution in your memory.
Thank you for your friendship!
Thank you for your leadership!
I for one, will never cease my efforts towards equity, equality, and just plain doing what is right!
I will always think of you when the tough fights loom, and I will draw courage from your memory.
John Graham
After leaving workshops I attended with Guy or when Guy was the speaker I always felt a renewed sense of purpose.
Guy was such a positive life force.
I will remember Guy and miss him.
